Swindon Wildcats 3-2 Basingstoke Bison
The Cats break their losing streak
After a 7 game losing streak Swindon got back to winning ways with a 3-2 victory over Basingstoke Bison.
This match also saw the return of Slovakian forward Jurai Rusic.
Swindon got off to the perfect start when defenceman Jan Krajicek found the net just 8 minutes into the 1st period. Determined not to let the Bison into the game, Swindon took their chance on a powerplay when Kohut netted to double the homesides lead going into the 2nd period. The second period was once again very physical with chances being created at either end, however neither team were able to find the net.
With just under 5 minutes left of the 2nd period Basingstoke's Nicky Chinn was thrown out of the game for a high sticking penalty on Jan Krajicek which cut the defenders lip meaning he had to leave the ice for treatment.
Krajicek returned to the ice in the 3rd period with the home side looking to hold onto there 2 goal lead. However the 3rd period didn't go Swindon's way and the Bison scored 2 goals sending the game into overtime.
With just 20 seconds gone Swindon scored the golden goal with some excellent solo play from Danillics which saw him pass the puck to the front of the net only to be deflected in off the leg of Aaron Nell.
A much needed win for the Cats which saw Jan Krajicek take the man of the match for the home side.
